"Happy Earth Day!!!"- Bushi and me

Bushi in the garden!

Its April 22nd and its Earth Day!! Bushi was so excited early in the morning. He wanted to plant trees. He helps me by digging the soil! I love Bushi. My mom said that today we'll switch off the all the electronic appliances for 2 hours in the evening. We all agreed.
Let me explain you how Earth day was originated and how we celebrate it.

The idea came to Earth Day founder Gaylord Nelson, then a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, after knowing about the  1969 massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. He realized that if he could inspire the people about air and water pollution.Nelson announced the idea for a “national teach-in on the environment” to the national media; persuaded Pete McCloskey, and enlisted Denis Hayes as national coordinator. Hayes built a national staff of 85 to promote events across the land.

As a result, on the 22nd of April, many people took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in massive coast-to-coast rallies. Thousands of colleges and universities organized protests against the deterioration of the environment. Groups that had been fighting against oil spills, polluting factories and power plants, raw sewage, toxic dumps, pesticides, freeways, the loss of wilderness, and the extinction of wildlife suddenly realized they shared common values.
Make nature crafts at school or home. Get together with your family and build a birdhouse or make a bird feeder to encourage the local bird population, which plays an important role in every ecosystem. You can even-
  • Make useful things our of waste things.
  • Plant saplings here and there in your locality or in your garden.

  • Switch off all the electric appliances for 1 or 2 hours.
  • Feed street animals with buns, breads etc.

  • You can do so many things! Just use your creativity!

Thought (quote)-

We won't have a society if we destroy the environment.
